Sharing is Caring
So once you have your unique URL, what do you do with it? If you are new to the world of affiliate marketing, you are probably wondering where to start. There are a lot of resources out there, but we’ve compiled some handy ideas for beginners. Here are 5 ways to get started as an affiliate marketer:
1) Product Reviews
Millions of people shop online every day, and many of them make a decision based on product reviews. After all, if you can’t see or touch it, how do you know it’s not a cheaply made product? Or maybe you’re worried the color in the online photo is not accurate? Having someone else buy an item and figure all those things out for you is immensely helpful, so this is a great way to get started in affiliate marketing. Of course, this takes a little bit of an investment since you’ll actually have to buy an item and try it out. You can write a review as a blog post, or you can make a YouTube video with your unique affiliate link in the description.
2) Social Media
You can share your affiliate link anywhere, including social media. Use the custom link function to create links to your favorite works of art, then write a post about why you love that specific piece. Or maybe feature a different Art For Your Cause artist every week on a Facebook page you create. You can even invest in ad spending to get your affiliate URL in front of as many people as possible.
3) Start an Art Blog
Love to write? A blog is an incredibly effective way to refer sales in affiliate marketing. From comparison product reviews, interviews with artists, or an article about a recent art exhibition you’ve visited, you’ll find that people are more willing to trust your opinion about art if you write about it (and often). If you are genuinely passionate about art, then you can write content that resonates with like-minded people. Some choose to be transparent about whether they are earning commissions on sales made by visitors, and some choose not to mention it. There are no hard and fast rules, just try to create as much valuable content as possible.
Hint: Don’t forget to place a linked banner on the sidebar of your website to earn as many sales as possible!
4) E-mail Lists
If you’re creating all this content, you’ll want to remind people when you post something new instead of hoping they come back to your site over and over again. That is where an e-mail list can come in handy. Add a subscription form on your website to collect e-mails, and then send a newsletter or content updates on a consistent basis. Try your best not to make your e-mails to sales based. Instead, link to your latest blog posts, or a survey, or a product review video. Using an e-mail marketing service like MailChimp can make this process a lot easier, and you can be confident you are compliant with all the regulations regarding privacy and spam.
There you are, 4 solid ways to get started in affiliate marketing. Now it’s time to share your link, refer sales, and make a commission! Good luck!
