Adriana Miranda is a painter and digital artist from Chicago, Illinois. After creating her first painting at age five, she knew she wanted to be a full-time artist.
Much like herself, her style is bold and self-aware. Jean-Michel Basquiat is her greatest influence for her neo-expressionist style. Basquiat’s influence on Adriana comes greatly from the internalization he appeared to use when producing work. She works under the idea that all pieces should start from one thought and anything that comes after objectively belongs. This way, each piece becomes a diary entry, and we become the reader.
The topics that Adriana covers in her work delve into controversial current events and philosophical theories. As a signature in nearly all of her work, she leaves a symbol or image that represents her upbringing as a Puerto Rican woman.
