About Opry Heritage Foundation
The Opry Heritage Foundation of OK (OHFO) is a 501(c)3 non- profit organization with the mission to provide quality music education and artist development while expanding the music industry and tourism in Oklahoma. Our vision is to become the premier provider of music education to under-served groups, artist development for OK performers and family-friendly live entertainment in our state.
OHFO: Transforming lives through music with the following programs:
Granville Community Music School
Named after Opry founder Granville (Grant) Leftwich, Granville provides quality music instruction to children from low-income families for the nominal fee of 50 cents per lesson. Granville is modeled after Nashville’s long-running, highly-successful W. O. Smith Community Music School. In addition to private lessons, Granville also offers group music classes to Positive Tomorrow’s after school program, Mission Academy High School and partners with Arts Council OKC to bring music to under-served schools in the OKC Public Schools district.
HOW CAN YOU HELP? Do you have instruments you or your children are no longer using? We would love to put those to great use in the hands of our students. We are also always in need of volunteer music teachers, especially in the areas of piano, guitar and violin. For more info, please email email@example.com or call (405)297-9773
Guitars for Vets OKC Chapter
OHFO is home of G4Vs first chapter in Oklahoma! OHFO is happy to partner with the national Guitars for Vets organization, Department of Veteran Affairs and the OKC VA Hospital to make this program possible. Guitars for Vets is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2007 who operates more than 80 chapters in 40 states with the assistance of over 200 volunteers nationwide. Over the past seven years, this organization has refined a guitar instruction program aimed at providing Veterans struggling with physical injuries, PTSD and other emotional distress a unique supportive program.
