“This is one of my favorite photos of my dad, carrying gifts. It’s perfect because that’s what he gave me, his creative gifts and the inspiration for Art For Your Cause.”
In April 2018, my father passed away from complications from Alzheimer’s Disorder. He was one of the most creative geniuses I have ever met.
As an interior designer my dad took ‘junk’ and converted it into treasures through recycling it and often reselling it to his previous clients.
My father was the ultimate ‘clown’. He loved telling tall tales, making people laugh and creating humorous situations!
My dad was emotional and passionate. Although he had his foibles, my dad was one of the most giving people I ever met. As his Alzheimer’s disorder progressed he became sweet, innocent and childlike.
I could share many stories about his selflessness. My dad was caring and had heartfelt compassion for anyone that socially would be deemed an outcast or unworthy, ‘down and out’ or unemployable. To those less fortunate, he was always there, providing emotional, financial, and immediate support for needs such as vehicles, jobs, housing and food.
“Yes, that’s me, carrying gifts! It’s a perfect visual representation of my excitement to share Art For Your Cause!”
Art For Your Cause was inspired by my father’s true heart philosophies:
- Give to the world the best you have.
- Return borrowed items better than received.
- When you’re hurting inside try to bring humor into the situation.
I miss my dad, but I know his legacy now lives on through Art For Your Cause.
