Utilize Product Reviews To Boost Your Art Business

Utilize Product Reviews to Boost Your Art Business

How many times have you been set on a product, only to read the reviews and change your mind completely? Product reviews have the power to move customers to buy a product solely based on what others said. When it comes to your art business, the influence of product reviews is key to boosting your business and gaining revenue.

While you may use social media, you might be unsure of how to insert product reviews without coming off salesy or pushy. Or perhaps you have a YouTube channel that could use some more views. Whatever the case, product reviews are one way to get eyes on you, your work, and make some cash along the way.

To help you out, we’ve taken the liberty of putting together a few tips and tricks to make product reviews a seamless part of your business.

Make Wise Initial Investments

Although getting started with product reviews does take a bit of investment on your part, your efforts will soon pay off. However, before you start making money, you’ll need to make wise initial investments. You shouldn’t go around buying every product just because it looks good.

Before you buy a product, take some time to think about your audience and what interests them. You can also consider what kind of products you gravitate to and ones you haven’t tried in the past.

Think about what you like and the products that you want to know more about. Purchase a few products to try and dip your toe in the product review waters. If you get a positive response, then you can continue to review similar products.

Write Blog Post Reviews

If you don’t already have an art blog, what are you waiting for? An art blog is a great place to share products that you love with readers. Writing product reviews gives you regular content to put out, especially if you try new products often. People love reading detailed reviews about products before making a purchase. So don’t hold back!

Tell them what you liked about the product, what you didn’t like about the product, and make sure that you’re honest. Don’t feel like you have to oversell the product to get people to buy it; give them your opinion. You’ll be surprised how far it goes.

Use Social Media Strategically

  1. Create custom links for products. Use the swipe up feature on Instagram for your links. If you mention a product in a post, be sure to include it in a story post. Create a custom link where your followers can easily access the product.
  2. Utilize IGTV: IGTV is a great platform to use for product reviews. You’re not limited by the 60-second Instagram video, so you can give more insight about the product. If you decide to go live, you can let your followers ask you questions in real-time. They can hear your honest answers without having to wait.
  3. Use reels to showcase products you love. Instagram reels are all the rage these days and for good reason. Jump into the reel world by creating a mini product review. You can even link reels to a blog post or YouTube video where you explain more about the product.
  4. Try not to \”link and run.\” Do your best not to link and run, meaning don’t haphazardly attach links to products because you want people to buy them. If you drop a link on your social media, give a short blurb explaining what you like about it. Simply inserting a link into a post isn’t going to get anyone to believe that you like or use a product. If you keep up this habit, you could end up losing followers.

Include Product Reviews in Newsletters

Newsletters that go out to your mailing list are yet another area where you can share product reviews. You may have followers or return buyers who don’t follow you on social media but regularly tune into your newsletter.

You can include blog posts to product reviews that you’ve done or share links to other videos about products that you love. You’ll cover all your bases and increase your chances of using product reviews to boost your art business.

The Power of YouTube

  1. Search engine optimization is key. If you want people to find your videos, search engine optimization (SEO) is extremely important. Include the name of the product, the video title, and the information box. You can even include a picture of the product in your thumbnail. When curious customers search the product online, your video will come up on the first page of search results, making it more likely that they’ll check out your video.
  2. Keep videos short and to the point. Don’t feel pressured to create 20-minute videos detailing every single thing you like about a product. The average human attention span is only about 8 seconds, so you don’t have much time. Make your videos short and touch on key points that you liked about the product. You might share what you’ve been using it for or how you’ve seen others use it.
  3. Put out teasers for videos. There’s a reason why they show previews before the movies. Putting a little teaser before you release a video will drum up some excitement. People can see a snippet of what you’ll talk about, piquing their curiosity. However, don’t lie in your teaser to get people to click on your video. Be careful that you don’t confuse teasers with clickbait. Draw them in by mentioning only one or two things. To find out more, they’ll have to watch the entire video.

Product reviews don’t have to be overwhelming and scary. They can help you connect with your audience and find some killer products along the way. Now that you’re armed with some practical tips and tricks, it’s time to get started! Get out there and start doing some product reviews that will help you grow your art business in no time.
